“ The server, a young black gentleman accommodated my needs very well. He was very considerate and understanding when my boyfriend and I expressed that my diet is very strict. Im on a low histamine and vegan diet and I carry my EpiPen with me at all times. I ordered gluten free pizza and he asked how did I want the salad and the sauces. He told me what was in them and I got to decide what I wanted. I didn't feel like a hassle and I wasn't rushed! After the pizza was done he came back to ask if I wanted vegan cheese. I said, "cool let's do it". I tasted and enjoyed the food. The marinara was tasted fresh and delicious paired with the gluten free bread. All in all I had no terrible reactions to the food. Oh! And the atmosphere was very nice. It was a busy day with only him working the floor. Music was playing softly in the background while my boyfriend mused how the establishment used to be a bank. We both drew up our new apartment plans on a napkin while waiting. It was a lovely first date spot for my boyfriend and I. And an even better time to taste pizza again after 3 years of not being able to because of my condition. I was truly grateful for the experience! Thank you! ”
“ Restaurant Clean. Staff friendly and accommodating. Many options to choose from on the menu. Wait staff was attentive. I ordered the lasagna. Once it cooled down I was really able to taste all the flavors. It was very cheesy. So if you're not a big fan of cheese, this is not for you. I would definitely order this again. ”
“ We are new to the area and have already gone to this place numerous times. Always immediately seated by polite, smiling, friendly staff. Wait staff is extremely attentive without being overbearing. Made to order pizza is delicious (fans of Chicago style may be disappointed as the crust is not inches thick). It's located in a former post office and has a lovely small town wholesome atmosphere. They do sell beer and wine, so tee-totalers may "clutch the pearls" at seeing that on the menu, but those of us who enjoy a cold beer with pizza or a nice glass of wine with some pasta will enjoy it. The entire place is impeccably clean. When you walk in the door, you're immediately greeted with the absolutely delicious aroma from the kitchen. This is a true gem in our little town. ”
“ Probably the best restaurant Sanford has to offer. By FAR the best pizza, no question about it. Been coming here for years and the service has always been great. Highly recommend. ”
“ Consistently amazing food, drink and service. Come here every time i am in Sanford. The focaccia bread they use for the sandwiches is unreal. ”
“ LA Dolce is located in a regentrified post office. It's clean and well spaced but lound with no noise reduction materials and metal chairs and tables. If you need quiet and intimate, look elsewhere. The service was good but slow. For a Saturday at 2pm, they were packed. The menu is a wee bit odd and very limited. The spinach dip was made like a pizza and not a dip at all. The foccacia with cheese was okay. The salad was bitter with no dressing options. The manicotti was really good but did not include any side for the price. Same with the foccicia sandwiches...no pickle, no chips, no options. Weirdly, they do not offer ANY sides with their meals. There are no al-la-cart items either. There is an upcharge of .75 if you ask for an item that is part of a meal to come on the side like salad dressing or chipolte mayo. Technically, that's paying for it twice. Their redemption lies in the pizza. Crisp thin crust straight from New York. The sauce had good flavor with just the right amount of cheese. It's priced competitively and outclassed Dominoes and other pizza chains. If you can live with all the quirky restrictions, it's a good place to eat. Next time, I'm bringing my own chips. ”
“ This place is not what you would expect from Sanford. We moved here from MPLS where there is so many different restaurants on every corner. I admit we are missing that aspect of our new city. So someone recommended La Dolce and I'm so glad they did. They had great pizza! The vibe is laid back and you don't feel like you are in Sanford. I wish they had a house salad rather then the specialty salads as nothing is better then a plain salad with pasta. M ”
“ Ok this is my second review. I have been twice once for lunch and once for dinner takeout. The staff is extremely polite and professional. The pizza is awesome and the ambiance nice super clean and they kept some of the old post office alive. My only complaint is if you've never been the sign is high up and the old postal truck outside makes you think not an Italian restaurant. We drove by it twice before we saw the sign. Make sure you save room for the Gelato. Wish they had a place in california I'm headed home Saturday. ”
